Gifts come in all shapes and sizes. Today during a therapy session, I was explaining that everyone has a different love language. You should take the assessment and figure yours out some time. One way to notice YOUR love language is to notice the things you do for your significant other. :) Usually -- we do the things we want done for ourselves. ie I love surprise gifts or gestures in case anyone is reading. :)
Ms. J! wanted to have some special photos taken for her boyfriend's birthday. During the Boudoir session in her apartment which we converted using lace, linen and fabrics, we discovered that quite possibly the boudoir session is the best gift a girl can give to herself. During the session, her curves were highlighted, her looks captured and her self-esteem rose to the ceiling. A woman is beautiful. I believe she should be a treasured gift always and I find a sense of accomplishment by allowing someone to feel so good about themselves.
At the end of the session, as we previewed the captures and marveled at her brilliance, I offered a warning. When I completed the book, I would tape some baby aspirin to the back cover because the images were so awesome I thought maybe we might cause a coronary failure accidentally but on purpose. What a better way to show someone you love them with images that demonstrate your passion?
The cat is our only witness. :)
